Comfortability, Cost and Mobility
Moreover, he compares the comfortability of the Quest 3 to that of the Vision Pro, saying that the Quest 3 weighs 120 grams less than the Quest 2 and has no tethered battery pack, which allows greater mobility and makes it more comfortable to wear for longer periods of time.
Nevertheless, Zuck acknowledges that Apple Vision Pro has a high resolution and great eye tracking system for some use cases, but he still believes the Quest’s option of physical hand controllers and hand tracking for input is better. However, he says that eye-tracking features will be included in the upcoming Quest generation.
The CEO of Meta also emphasizes how much more content Quest has to offer, how exclusive features like Xbox game play are only available on Quest, and then there’s the fact that the Quest 3 is, as Zuck says, “like seven times less expensive.”
According to Zuckerberg, the Meta Quest 3 is an open-model AR headset, while the Vision Pro is a closed-model device, and he compares them with Macs and PCs. He further said that “in this next generation, Meta is going to be the open model, and I really want to make sure the open model wins again.”.
Zuckerberg expressed gratitude to his team for their long-standing work on VR headsets, both for Quest and other ray ban glasses. He ends the video by saying, “The best way to predict the future is to invent it.”
Apparently, neither the Meta Quest 3 nor the Vision Pro headset have officially gained worldwide recognition. However, Meta Quest 3 is readily available for about Rs 50,000 on websites like Amazon, whereas Vision Pro, which is presently only available in the US, must be imported.
