The working group will gather experts from leading universities, and tech giants like Huawei and Tencent, Baidu, Inc., NetEase, and SenseTime 商汤科技, and relevant government agencies. They will collaborate with Chinese universities to shape the future of this transformative technology with the aim to establish rules for the organization of metaverse platforms and the development of a national metaverse platform, Yuanverse.
The proposed plan to form a Yuanverse standardization working group is another national-level action plan after China’s 3-year action plan for metaverse industry development which was released in September 2023.
