Metaverse companies create projects that are as fun as the human imagination. Thus, thriving to maintain an integral economy that can promote a better convergence of our real and virtual lives in terms of entertainment, wealth, productivity, socialization, and even shopping.

Here are five of the major game changers. This list is not final and is compiled in no order of importance.

The Top Five Metaverse Companies

Axie Infinity

Axie Infinity (AXS) is an NFT-based multiplayer combat and trading game built on the Ethereum blockchain. It is one of the largest play-to-earn (P2E) games in the world and also one of the biggest NFT projects in the entire community.

In October 2018, the company initially launched an “idle battle” system reminiscent of the mobile game “Idle Heroes”. After the December 2019 update, the game upgraded to its current platform, giving players a deeper gaming experience.

Unlike other online games, Axie Infinity establishes integration between standard online games and the blockchain. It builds an ecosystem of incredible gaming experiences based on player-owned economies. Thus, it uses a design that allows players to own their virtual assets as well as rewards players.

The more time spent playing, the more rewards received.

Roblox Corporation

Roblox Corporation is a significant company in the Metaverse space. It operates an online entertainment platform, which allows users to make friends, share experiences, connect with similar interests, and go on digital adventures together.

The Roblox platform started as a game creation system in 2006. But over time, the user community has pushed its ability to the next level.

In Roblox, the fun comes not only from playing games but also from making games. These games are not officially developed by Roblox Corporation, but rather by users of the platform.

Users have been able to fully immerse themselves in the game, and with a variety of games catering to almost every demographic. The platform has gained more than 37 million daily active users, and the official website currently boasts more than 164 million monthly users and over 20 million games published on its platform.

Two of the most popular games on Roblox are Adopt Me!- a pet simulation game where kids buy and take care of animals, which broke over 1.6 million concurrent players in April 2020. The other is Brookhaven, which currently has the most concurrent users, with over 420,000 people playing at the time of publication.

Ready Player Me

Ready Player Me (RPM) is an avatar engine platform used by more than 1,000 developers. The company allows users to create a unique 3D avatar using a selfie within seconds and use the avatar in more than 2,000 compatible apps, platforms, and games in the Metaverse.

Launched in 2020, Ready Player I has more than 3000 customers across the metaverse and works with companies like VRChat, Spatial, Hiber, Pixelynx, Adidas, RTFKT, and Dior, among many others, to create amazing Metaverse experiences for its users.

Decentraland

Decentraland is one of the top Metaverse companies and has a heavy focus on real estate.

The platform is decentralized, which means that there is no user data held by third parties. Users create their custom avatars, which allow them to explore the different landscapes offered by the company.

Founded in 2015 and launched in 2017, Decentraland is powered by Ethereum and allows users to host parties, rent spaces, build skyscrapers, buy and sell real estate, buy LAND parcels that are digital assets commonly referred to as NFTs, and do lots more in the virtual world.

Although the company claims to be the first virtual world owned by its users, Decentraland started simply as a proof of concept of allocating ownership of digital real estate to users on the blockchain. The digital real estate was initially implemented as a pixel on an infinite 2D grid where each pixel contains metadata that identifies the owner. Decentraland has since evolved into a 3D virtual world divided according to different regions.

Some of the company’s upcoming developments and features include VR avatar console improvements and chat features, which will enable its community to produce wearables and lease land.

The Sandbox

Sandbox is a Metaverse company that allows users to create their own 3D virtual assets using an in-game 3D editor called VoxEdit. The NFT Marketplace also allows users to upload, publish, and sell their NFT creations. After creating unique assets, users can list them in the in-game market, thus facilitating the monetization of the creator.

The platform has an easy-to-use tool called The Sandbox Game Maker which users can use to design, build, test, and share amazing 3D games for free. No coding is required thanks to accessible visual scripting tools to create stunning 3D games in minutes. Thus, creators can contribute on a large scale in the metaverse, with a wide range of unique creations and interactive experiences.

Sandbox is best known for its two mobile hits The Sandbox (2011) and The Sandbox Evolution (2016), which have amassed 40 million downloads across iOS and Android.

Conclusion.

The development of the metaverse is a large-scale work in progress. With the Metaverse set to change the way users interact online, more and more companies are innovating in the virtual world. And as ideas continue to evolve and grow, these metaverse companies are working hard to make them a reality.
