The American fast food company announced on Friday that it’s partnering with Karen X. Cheng to celebrate the lunar new year in the metaverse. According to the press release, users can experience fun, augmented reality, and 3D games with their smartphones.
“Enjoy the magic of the holiday through your smartphone with this exclusive Instagram AR filter. Users will get to experience the transition from the Year of the Tiger (2022) to the Year of the Rabbit (2023) through a breathtaking 3D illusion.” McDonald said.
Users worldwide can connect to the virtual world with their connected devices and customized 3D avatars to experience different entertaining games. The event will start with a Lunar New Year party on Jan. 25 and Feb. 2 with Karen X. Cheng.
According to the report, the AI-powered TV commercial Lunar New Year experience was inspired by Karen’s childhood memories of the holiday. The ad spot is the first to include Neural Radiance Fields (NeRF) technology.
