TravelX on Wednesday announced its partnership with the Argentinian low-cost airline Flybondi to introduce Ticket 3.0. Through the partnership, Flybondi used TravelX’s innovative technology, which was built on the Algorand blockchain, to create Ticket 3.0, thereby introducing Web3 to the travel industry.
According to the report, Flybondi issued its tickets as NFTs to customers, making them the first airline to issue tickets as NFTs.
Mauricio Sana, CEO of Flybondi, expressed excitement for being at the forefront of innovation in the travel industry, and said Ticket 3.0 demonstrates their commitment to innovation and providing their customers with the best travel experiences.
“Flybondi’s Ticket 3.0 demonstrates our commitment to innovation and providing our customers with the best possible experience. We’re excited to be at the forefront of this change in the travel industry.” Mauricio said.
The CEO of TravelX, Juan Pablo Laffose, said that the partnership shows the potential of NFT technology in the travel industry, and expressed eagerness to bring more innovations to the industry.

Ticket 3.0
Ticket 3.0, according to Flybondi, can be renamed, transferred, or given to another as a gift like an NFT. Travelers can own and use the ticket as they wish.
Staci Warden, CEO of Algorand, said, “We are thrilled to see our technology being utilized in such a unique way by TravelX. This likely represents the largest use-case of utility NFTs we’ve seen and something that could only happen with the reliability and scalability of Algorand Blockchain.”
She further added that “the adoption of NFTicket technology represents a significant milestone for the airline industry, with TravelX leading the charge in driving this transformative change.”
Different brands and football clubs, like FC Barcelona and others, have ventured into Web3 by launching their own NFT.
