Why did OpenAI Collaborate with Schibsted Media Group?
OpenAI, a leader in artificial intelligence and deployment, on Monday in a news report said that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Schibsted Media to include Schibsted Media’s fact-based journalism into OpenAI’s services. Schibsted Media will also get access to OpenAI’s insights and access to its new technology.
According to the report, OpenAI will integrate content from a selection of its published titles, such as national newspapers VG, Aftenposten, Aftonbladet, and Svenska Dagbladet, into OpenAI’s products, including ChatGPT. The articles will be used to deliver up-to-date news summaries, with clear attribution back to Schibsted Media’s brands, allowing users to verify information.

OpenAI explained that Schibsted Media has already been incorporating AI inside its business and has also used AI-driven text-to-speech technology to convert news articles into audio and text-to-video solutions to turn articles into engaging multimedia content, enhancing the accessibility and reach of its content.
OpenAI and the California State University Empower 500K students and faculty with AI.
On Feb 4, 2024, OpenAI announced that the California State University system (CSU) is taking a historic step to expand the use of AI in higher education by providing more than 460,000 students and over 63,000 staff and faculty with access to ChatGPT Edu, a version of ChatGPT customized for educational institutions.
This is the biggest implementation of ChatGPT by any single organization or company anywhere in the world, OpenAI said in a statement.
Based on the report, the broad access to ChatGPT will allow CSU students to combine AI into their studies, while faculty can use it to simplify administrative tasks, freeing up more time for teaching and research.
