Avalanche, a smart contract platform with the fastest transaction speed among current layer 1 blockchains, has developed a strategic alliance with MapleStory Universe, a global blockchain initiative of Nexon Group.

Web3 Version of MapleStory
According to Avalanche’s official blog post, users will be allowed to create and share original content in the game with a new version, called MapleStory N.
The project, which is scheduled for deployment in 2024. Avalanche offers a seamless gaming experience even during spikes in transaction volume thanks to its highly scalable app-specific “Subnet” architecture.
Through this alliance, MapleStory Universe intends to extend its blockchain ecosystem and carry out other initiatives, such as technological partnerships, in order to provide a reliable service. Avalanche claims that MapleStory Universe would run on a unique Avalanche subnet created just for its ecology.
According to the blog, “committed Web2 gamers will have an extended gaming experience on Avalanche, introducing them to the possibilities of Web3 gaming.”

However, MapleStory Universe intends to launch its blockchain-based PC MMOPRG, “MapleStory N,” in a few regions within the year. A number of additional tools and applications will also be released.
Furthermore, a collaborative panel discussion between MapleStory Universe and Avalanche will take place at MapleStory Universe’s side event on March 20, 2024, during the week of the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco. Blockchain integration for video game projects will be presented at this event by Edward Chang and Angela Son.
